The Asian Culture Complex is the core facility in the project to form Gwangju as Culture Hub-City of Asia.
It is constructed in and around former Chonnam Provincial Office which is the symbol of Gwangju, the city of Democracy, Human Right and Peace, as well as the living center of Gwangju citizens.
The lot is 35,746 pyong(118,170§³) in size, with the total floor space of 43,172 pyong(142,718§³).
The sum of project cost amounts to $ 680 mllion, and the construction will be completed in 2010.
This project will be put forward on the base of 3 concepts : the landmark of Culture Hub-City of Asia; a symbolic edifice reflecting Gwangju Spirit; and a daily culture space for citizens.

Networks will be designed in such that creative communication among compositional units are possible.
The connectivity among individual spaces within Gwangju will be maximized.
Citizens will be the main actors by establishing the interactive relationship between culture production and its accommodation.
